One of the things that I vividly remember as a child is always saying in my head, “It’s not fair!” I learned that life isn’t fair, and the favor of God definitely isn’t fair. God chooses who He wants to bless, when He wants to bless them. In His holy Word it tells us that God rains on the just as well as the unjust, so we may as well deal with it! While who wouldn’t want the favor of God on them? We just have to hope and pray that He wants to give it to us, because favor definitely ain’t fair!!!
Today is one of my label mates’ book release day.I’m very excited about that! We as Americans are so selfish! We can’t give compliments in any form. (That’s just my opinion, and remember opinions are like butt-holes. We’ve all got one.)I would like to issue a challenge to everybody today. Try to be happy for someone else today. If God is blessing your friend that means that He is on your block. If you have to look at it that way. Go ahead. Try it out. I’ll bet you like it!

While going to the movies was an obviously good thing to do. The choice I made I feel was a poor one. Yes I took African-American studies in college, and knowing our history is important. Yet, for me watching about it on the big screen just wasn’t such a good idea! I give kudos to those who can stomach such things. While I will definitely choose to go to the movies again. Only this time to watch something much lighter!
Many people look at God just like a spiritual genie in the bottle. How do I know this? I use to as well. Instead of being grateful for all that He has already done on the cross for us we decide to tell God,” Okay. I will serve you, but if I do will you do so and so for me?” Yep. That’s exactly what we do.
I challenge everybody on today to decide to pick 1 thing that you feel God has done for you, concentrate on that 1 thing and then just thank Him. Don’t ask for anything else just thank Him for He has already done!
I won another blue ribbon at toastmasters last night for Best Speaker. The title of my speech was Who Would Have Thought. It made me think hum….. who would have thought somebody like me would be expecting their second book to be published. Working a first shift Monday thru Friday desk job. My God is so amazing!! After being in prison for such a long time you would think that I have a large stain on me, but I don’t. So, if you ask who would have thought? Just say,”Onyx would have thought!”
Our choir is rehearsing for Sunday the song Better by Hezekiah Walker. Before I can ever minister a song to our church family the song has to minister to me first! Then it dawned on me that life is going to get better! I’m a child of God therefore, trouble don’t last always. No matter what the situation it’s always going to get BETTER!!!!!!
